About Me

Hi, I'm Dawson Santangelo

If you’ve navigated some of my pages already, I’m sure you have an understanding of who I am and what I enjoy in life, but I would like to give you a more personal view. I have prided myself on hard work ever since I was a kid. Whether it be in the classroom, on the field, or on the ice, I have always given 110%. I want to win and succeed in everything I do, but I am one who’s learned how to deal with a loss, trust the process, and adapt knowing that success is never guaranteed. The beauty in losing is that you get to learn what works and what doesn’t work. I learn more from my losses than I do from my wins. I am dedicated, and when I have something on my mind, I do everything in my power to deliver at a high rate and provide the best quality. I am committed to myself and my team. I look out for my teammates and colleagues, always putting them before me, and ensuring they have all the resources needed to succeed. I have a passion for learning, listening to other, and trying new things. We’ll never improve if we stick to what we’re comfortable with. I’m always willing to branch out of my comfort zone, as these tend to be the times I learn most about who I am and what my purpose is. Each day, I strive to learn something new, as we live in a world of unlimited information. Finally, I’m here to stay. I’ve experienced the highs and lows life has thrown my way, but regardless of the outcome, I find myself back on my feet, ready to work and ready to improve.

Background

You’re never far from an adventure in Boulder, Colorado. A place I have been lucky enough to call home for 21 years, Boulder has provided me with memories I’ll cherish forever. Before setting off to college and the new chapter of my life, I never though I’d move back to Colorado. Besides visits back home, I assumed I would stick to the ocean and the East Coast, but all of that has changed over the past few years. I have slowly started to realize that I took my time in Colorado for granted. Colorado has provided me with countless opportunities to flourish. After visiting more than 70% of the United States and 15 countries scattered across the globe, I’ve realized that Colorado is more than a state. It’s where my parents gave me to opportunity to grow. A place that offers 300 days of sunshine each year, provides you with 4 beautiful national parks, 44,000 skiable acres, and the greatest hockey team in the world, the Colorado Avalanche. Most importantly, Colorado is home. It always has been, but now I can confirm it always will be.

My Passions

Traveling

I love traveling. For the first 4 1/2 months of 2023, I spent my time studying abroad in Florence, Italy while traveling all throughout Europe. The stories you hear, people you meet, and cultures you experience are life changing. I would love to work a job in the future that requires International travel. I’m always looking for my next adventure!

Photography

A relatively recent hobby I’ve picked up, but I love to photograph portrait shots, architecture and landscapes. I’ve developed skills using a digital camera to shoot manual and automatic shots, and have more recently began exploring film photography as well! Some of my personal work can be found in my soft skills page under the sample work section!

Sports

Ever since I was a kid, I have loved sports. I use to be the kid who knew every player, every stat, and all there was to know about a team, especially hockey. I grew up playing everything, but found my favorites over time. I was a 2x Varsity lacrosse captain as well as the 2020 Male Athlete of the Year my senior year of high school. I would love to stay connected to the sports world in the future!

Music

Music is my best friend. Since I was young, a smooth beat or rhythm could distract me from anything. Music connects me to my surroundings and can be used for anything. I love going to concerts and festivals, and was lucky enough to see one in the Austrian Alps in Spring 2023. Learning how to make music is the next checkoff on my bucket list!

My Ethical Code

Mutual Respect

Treat others as you would like to be treated. No matter one’s race, religion or identity, every human being deserves to be treated in a respectful manner.

Accountability

I like to be held accountable just as I expect others to be accountable for their work. However, if one’s in need of help, always reach out. I as well as others are always willing to help.

Honesty

The most successful workplaces are the ones where there’s transparency and honesty all the time. Losing one’s trust can deeply hurt the company. Trust others and always be honest.
